Alu-Cab Unveils Their Largest Rooftop Tent Yet: The RT-4S

Alu-Cab has officially announced the launch of the RT-4S, their largest rooftop tent to date, designed to comfortably sleep four adults while keeping weight and height in check. Built for families, overlanding crews, or anyone who refuses to compromise on space, the RT-4S offers a new take on comfort and practicality in the world of rooftop living.

Drawing inspiration from the popular ModCAP Family Camper, the RT-4S was developed as a standalone rooftop tent option for SUVs, vans, or truck canopies, no ModCAP platform required. Its side-opening, fold-out design creates generous sleeping space without adding unnecessary bulk on top of your vehicle.

Sleeps four adults comfortably with added headroom
Flip-out bed section supported by an integrated telescopic ladder
Aluminium construction — no plastic, built to handle rough trails

At 7 feet 10.5 inches long, Alu-Cab says the RT-4S is the biggest four-sleeper rooftop tent on the market. Despite its size, the engineering team reduced weight by using 1.5mm sheet aluminium instead of the usual 2mm, and reinforced the base with stainless steel struts to prevent bowing.

Inside, campers can expect panoramic views, a skylight for stargazing, and an intuitive setup process that doesn’t require a manual. The fold-out design not only increases sleeping space but also makes the RT-4S ideal for groups that want more room without sacrificing durability or ease of use.

The RT-4S made its global debut in Germany and has already earned praise for its comfort and versatility. Whether you’re planning extended overland expeditions or weekend getaways with friends and family, this tent is built for adventure without compromise.
