Alaskan HS 640
The Original Hard-Sided Camper. Now Built Lighter.
Built on a new platform, it’s designed to reduce weight through a ground-up redesign, fit a wider range of trucks, and lower the barrier to entry without compromising Alaskan build quality or durability. Constructed with composite walls and an aluminum/PVC exoskeleton, the HS 640 is built for long-term durability while reflecting a return to Alaskan’s roots as an innovative company.
Built for All Four Seasons
Lightest Alaskan Ever Built
Starting at just 1,200 lbs dry, the HS 640 is the lightest hard-sided Alaskan Camper to date. That lower weight is a major shift for the brand, opening the door for more truck owners to step into an Alaskan without the heavier duty truck requirements many buyers have expected in the past.
The Alaskan Slide-In Camper stands apart with its signature hard-sided pop-up design that has remained unmatched since the brand’s early days. When lowered, it travels low for better aerodynamics and stability. Once raised, the solid walls create a fully insulated, weather-tight cabin that feels more like a mountain retreat than a truck topper.

Half-Ton Capable for More Trucks
The HS 640 was designed to fit a wider range of full-size trucks, especially properly equipped half-ton pickups. That makes it a more accessible option for buyers who want the durability, security, and comfort of a hard-sided camper while keeping a more practical truck setup for daily driving and travel.
Behind its timeless exterior, every Alaskan Camper features a modern electrical system built for off-grid reliability. Lithium batteries, DC-to-DC charging, and solar panels provide dependable power anywhere. The layout is simple, accessible, and field-serviceable, built to handle long trips and demanding use.
Modern Build Construction & Materials
Built on a new platform, the HS 640 uses advanced composite wall construction, a thermal break frame, and mostly non-organic materials to reduce weight and improve efficiency. The result is a more modern Alaskan that stays true to the brand’s reputation for durability while taking a smarter approach to structure, insulation, and long-term performance.
From freezing dawns at 10,000 feet to hot afternoons in Baja, the Alaskan Slide-In Camper offers true year-round comfort. R-13 spray-foam insulation, a forced-air furnace, and an optional Nomadic X2 12-volt air conditioner keep the interior stable in any climate. Its sealed hard-wall structure makes it one of the quietest and most temperature-controlled campers you can own.
