Hard-Sided Pop-Up Design

The Alaskan Flatbed Camper stands apart with its signature hard-sided pop-up construction — a feature that’s remained unmatched since the brand’s early days. When lowered, the camper maintains a low profile that improves aerodynamics and stability on winding mountain roads. Once raised, the solid walls lock into place to form a fully insulated cabin that keeps out wind, dust, and road noise. Unlike fabric-sided campers, the Alaskan offers a quiet, secure, and weather-tight living space that feels more like a mountain cabin than a truck topper.

The Alaskan Slide-In Camper stands apart with its signature hard-sided pop-up design that has remained unmatched since the brand’s early days. When lowered, it travels low for better aerodynamics and stability. Once raised, the solid walls create a fully insulated, weather-tight cabin that feels more like a mountain retreat than a truck topper.

Modern Power & Off-Grid Capability

Behind its timeless exterior, every Alaskan Camper is built with the kind of modern electrical system today’s travelers expect. Integrated lithium batteries, DC-to-DC charging, and solar panels allow for dependable off-grid power anywhere and anytime. The design keeps everything simple, accessible, and field-serviceable — not over-engineered, just smartly built. Whether you’re running a fridge, charging camera gear, or powering Starlink for work on the road, the Alaskan’s electrical backbone is designed to keep up with your lifestyle.

Four-Season Comfort

From freezing dawns at 10,000 feet to hot afternoons in Baja, the Alaskan Slide-In Camper delivers year-round comfort. R-13 spray-foam insulation, a forced-air furnace, and a fully sealed hard-wall structure trap warmth efficiently in the winter while staying cool in the heat. Add the optional Nomadic X2 12-volt air conditioner, and you’re ready for summer adventures in the desert or high plains. Because of its solid walls and tight construction, this is one of the quietest and most temperature-stable campers available — a genuine four-season shelter built for the diverse climates that make Colorado exploration so unique.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type and size of truck is recommended for an Alaskan Camper?

We recommend a 3/4 ton or larger truck for an Alaskan camper. Truck classifications like half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton refer to payload capacities. For example, in Ford’s lineup, the F-150 is classified as a half-ton, the F-250 Super Duty as a 3/4-ton, and the F-350 Super Duty as a 1-ton. These heavier classes, especially the 3/4-ton and above, provide optimal performance for hauling an Alaskan camper.

Can I tow a boat or small trailer behind my Alaskan?

Yes! That’s the great thing about an Alaskan truck camper, you can tow your boat, a trailer or any of your camping toys. Whatever you normally would tow is still a possibility.

How heavy is a typical Alaskan Camper?

Dry weight for Alaskan Campers varies depending on the model length—from approximately 1,500 lbs for a 6.5’ model to 2,500 lbs for the 10’ model.

Where can I locate my truck's payload capacity?

You can find the payload capacity on the placard located on the driver’s side door pillar or inside the glove box on a payload certification form. Additionally, you can calculate the payload rating by subtracting your truck’s curb weight from its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR).

How long does it take to build my Alaskan?

Depending on the options and features you’ve chosen it usually takes four to five months to complete the build and have it shipped to Denver, CO.

How do I get my new camper when it’s done being built?

Come pick up your custom-built Alaskan from our shop in Denver, CO. We’ll secure the camper to your vehicle, walk through how to operate everything and answer all your questions before you’re on your way.
