Adventurer Campers has been building hard-side truck campers since 1969 - long before RVs were trendy and overlanding was a hashtag. Founded by three generations of RV builders, they started with a single goal: to create the most durable truck campers on the market. Today, they’re still doing the work ourselves, crafting every unit with a focus on quality, longevity, and real-world performance. After more than five decades of refinement and feedback, Adventurer doesn’t just build for looks - they build for the long haul. Because when you're 80 miles down a forest road, dependability isn’t optional - it’s everything.

Frequently Asked Questions

What truck types are compatible with Adventurer Campers?

Adventurer Campers are designed to fit a wide range of full-size pickup trucks – from light-duty half tons to heavy-duty one-ton models. What sets Adventurer apart is the flexibility in their lineup: all of the models (except the 910DB) are compatible with both short (6–6.75’) and long (8’) bed trucks, whether or not your setup includes a generator.

What makes the Overlander Edition different from standard models?

Overlander Edition trim is a special, limited-run version that's been upgraded for off-grid and all-season performance. It includes premium features not found on the standard models - like a marine-grade removable flooring, unique exterior graphics package, a 400W roof-mounted solar panel with Bluetooth monitoring and a three-way fridge (12V/110V/propane).

Can I use an Adventurer Camper year-round (are they four-season)?

Yes – Adventurer campers are built for true four-season use. Every model features insulated floors, walls, and ceilings, along with thermal pane windows and enclosed heated holding tanks to keep things warm and functional in freezing conditions. All models also include a powerful propane furnace as standard, and optional low-profile A/C units are available to help keep cool in hotter months.

What models does Adventurer offer, and how are they different?

Adventurer’s truck camper lineup includes seven hard-side, slide-in camper models, each with unique floorplans and features. They range from the ultra-light 65RB (6’ 8” floor, no slide-out, wet bath) to the lightweight 80RB (8’4” floor, no slide-out, wet bath) up to the flagship 910DB (9’10” floor, single slide-out, & dry bath).

In between are models like the 86FB (8’11” floor, no slide, wet bath), 89RB (9’1” floor, no slide, wet bath), 89RBS (similar to 89RB but with a full-wall slide-out dinette and fridge), and 901SB (9’ 5” floor, no slide, designed for short-bed trucks, wet bath).

Each model offers different sleeping capacities, bath layouts (wet vs. dry bath), and amenities to suit various needs. You can view all models on our website for a side-by-side comparison of specs and features.

Are Adventurer Campers self-contained? (Do they have a bathroom, kitchen, etc.)

Yes, except for the 65RB which is not self-contained and does not have a standard dry or wet bath. All other Adventurer truck campers are fully self-contained RVs – meaning they come with the amenities you’d expect for independent camping.

Even one of the smallest models, the 80RB, is “fully self-contained” with onboard fresh water and holding tanks, gray and black water tanks, a galley kitchen (sink, stove, fridge), a furnace and hot water heater, and a bathroom with shower and toilet (wet bath). Larger models provide even more comfort: for example, the 910DB features a separate dry bath (with a stand-alone shower), a larger fridge, and more storage.

You’ll have a bed, cooking facilities, and bathroom facilities all built into your Adventurer Camper – everything you need for off-grid or campground camping.

Do any Adventurer Campers have slide-outs?

Yes, Adventurer offers both non-slide and slide-out camper designs. Most models (65RB, 80RB, 86FB, 89RB, 901SB) are non-slide campers – simpler and a bit lighter. However, two models include slide-outs to expand the interior space: the 89RBS has a full-wall slide that contains the face-to-face dinette and a 8 cu. ft. fridge, and the Adventurer 910DB has a slide-out (street side) that enlarges the dinette area in this long-bed camper.

The slide-out models give you a bit more room to move around inside, while the non-slide models are great for those who prefer no moving parts or have weight constraints.

What kind of warranty do Adventurer Campers include?

Adventurer stands behind their campers with industry-leading warranties. All new Adventurer truck campers come with a 3-year structural warranty on the camper’s construction – this covers the integrity of the bonded aluminum frame (Adventurer’s TCC® construction) and structure.

Additionally, certain components have their own warranties; for example, the one-piece TPO roof membrane is warrantied for 12 years against defects. Appliances (fridge, furnace, etc.) are typically covered by their manufacturers’ warranties as well. We will help you register your camper and ensure you understand all warranty coverage.

How do I know if my truck can handle an Adventurer Camper (payload and weight)?

It’s important to match any truck camper to a suitable truck. First, check your truck’s payload capacity – this is the maximum weight your truck can carry in the bed (often found on a door jamb sticker or in the owner’s manual). Compare that to the camper’s dry weight plus the weight of any gear, water, propane, and passengers. Don’t forget to confirm your tires are rated to carry the load as well.

If you’re unsure, that’s where we come in. Juniper will help you find the model that best suits your truck and can recommend or install any custom upfits needed for a safe and seamless match, whether that’s tie-downs, suspension upgrades, or bed prep.

Can I use the camper when it’s off the truck?

Yes, you can. One big advantage of a truck camper is the ability to unload it at camp and use your truck separately. Adventurer's campers are designed to be used off the truck, supported by their corner jacks.

There are just a few safety precautions: make sure to park the camper on firm, level ground and lower the jack legs as much as possible for stability. It’s also recommended to support the front edge of the camper (e.g. with a sawhorse or camper stand) if people are inside, to prevent any tipping forward. With the camper off-loaded securely, you can still enjoy all its amenities at camp while your truck is free for other adventures.

Can passengers ride in an Adventurer Camper while I’m driving?

No – it is not recommended to have anyone ride in the camper while the truck is in motion. Adventurer's campers do not come with seatbelts or passenger safety restraints. For safety, Adventurer advises against it.
