2027 Scout Camper Updates: Smarter, Warmer, and More Refined

2027 Scout Camper Updates: Smarter, Warmer, and More Refined

Scout Campers is making some of its most substantial lineup-wide updates in recent years for Model Year 2027, with changes coming to the Scout Tuktut, Yoho, Olympic, and Kenai truck campers.

Rather than completely reinventing the Scout platform, the 2027 updates focus heavily on refining the areas owners interact with most. Scout says the changes were developed directly from customer feedback, resulting in improvements to the entry door, heating system, insulation, cabinetry, interior materials, floorplans, storage, and everyday usability.

There are also several smaller changes throughout the lineup that improve cold-weather performance, electrical integration, camper-to-truck protection, and functionality.

Here is everything changing across the 2027 Scout Camper lineup.

New Insulated Entry Door

One of the biggest changes across the 2027 Scout lineup is an entirely new entry door.

Scout is moving to a German-manufactured door featuring a lightweight aluminum clamping frame, internal hinges, additional deadbolts, and a fully foamed polyurethane core.

That insulation is particularly important. Entry doors can become a significant thermal weak point in four-season campers, so Scout has designed the new door to create a more complete thermal envelope and reduce heat loss in colder weather.

The new construction is also designed to maintain consistent tension and shape over time, helping the door maintain a tight seal for better weather protection and long-term operation.

For owners who regularly use their Scout in winter conditions, this may be one of the more meaningful 2027 upgrades.

Eberspächer D2 Diesel Heater Replaces the Previous Heating System

Scout is also overhauling the heating system for 2027.

The new system uses an Eberspächer D2 diesel heater along with a redesigned control panel. Scout specifically highlights the heater for its established reliability and more dependable operation in cold conditions.

The heating system itself is only part of the change. Scout has also revised how heat is distributed throughout certain campers, including new ducted floor heating in the Olympic.

The updated controls are intended to be simpler and more reliable as well, with Scout citing a failure rate of less than 0.7 percent for the new control system.

Combined with the new insulated entry door and several additional thermal improvements throughout the camper, cold-weather performance is clearly one of the major focuses of the 2027 redesign.

Insulated Pop-Up Tent Fabric Is Now Available

One of the most requested upgrades for Scout’s pop-up campers is finally arriving for 2027: insulated pop-up tent fabric.

The optional insulated fabric is designed to improve temperature regulation in both cold and warm conditions. Additional insulation should help retain interior heat during winter camping while also helping manage heat during warmer weather.

For owners camping throughout the Rockies or other areas with large temperature swings, the insulated tent material should make the Scout Yoho Pop-Up, Olympic Pop-Up, and Kenai Pop-Up more comfortable outside of traditional summer camping conditions.

Updated Interiors Across the Entire Scout Lineup

Scout is also creating a more consistent interior across its 2027 camper lineup.

Hardwall campers will receive high-pressure laminate cabinetry designed to resist fingerprints, everyday wear, and repeated cleaning. Pop-up campers will retain their existing 80/20 aluminum cabinet structure, but Scout is standardizing the overall fit and finish between models.

Every Scout will also receive Richlite countertops and tables.

Richlite is a resin-infused paper composite known for being lightweight, durable, water resistant, and capable of developing a natural patina over time. The material brings a warmer appearance to the interior while retaining the durability expected from an off-road truck camper.

Scout's Sage and Canyon premium interior colorways will also become standard equipment across every model for 2027 rather than being treated as an upgraded interior selection.

An optional Polartec interior package will also be available, using Polartec 200 Series fleece for the cushions along with a matching Power Grid mattress surface.

New TORVA Sink and Integrated Cutting Board

The 2027 Scout campers will also receive a new TORVA sink.

The redesigned sink uses a deeper square basin with a flat bottom, providing more usable space for washing cookware and dishes than the previous design.

A fitted cutting board covers the sink when it is not being used, turning the area into additional food preparation or countertop space.

It is a relatively small change compared with the new heating system or floorplans, but it addresses one of the realities of living in a compact truck camper: every inch of countertop matters.

Mudroom and Shower Pan Expanded Across the Scout Lineup

Scout introduced its integrated mudroom and shower pan in the Kenai, and for 2027 they are expanding it to the rest of the lineup with the exception of the Tuktut.

The drainable floor area provides a dedicated place for wet boots, muddy equipment, pets, and snow-covered gear without bringing everything directly onto the main camper floor.

The integrated drain also creates additional possibilities for indoor shower setups.

For anyone using a Scout for skiing, hunting, fishing, muddy trail travel, or winter camping, this is one of those changes that may prove more useful in the real world than it initially appears on a spec sheet.

2027 Scout Tuktut Gets a Major Standard Equipment Upgrade

The Tuktut receives one of the biggest changes of any Scout model for 2027.

Scout is moving away from the previous shell-only configuration and repositioning the Tuktut around a much more complete standard package.

The 2027 Tuktut will now include a 100-watt solar system, propane lines, premium interior, Scout's Unbound Power Tower electrical system, galley cabinetry and sink, skylight, LifeSaver Jerrycan, and flip-up tabletop as standard equipment. The Kammok Crosswing remains available as an option.

The change brings the smallest Scout much closer to the same equipment philosophy of the Yoho, Olympic, and Kenai rather than requiring customers to build up a comparatively sparse base camper.

That additional standard equipment is also important context when comparing the 2027 Tuktut price with the outgoing model.

Scout Yoho Hardwall and Pop-Up Now Share a Floorplan

Scout is consolidating the Yoho lineup around a single optimized floorplan for 2027.

The Yoho Hardwall will now adopt the general layout used by the Yoho Pop-Up, giving both models a more consistent interior arrangement.

The revised layout focuses heavily on maximizing storage within the Yoho's compact footprint.

One of the more noticeable changes is the refrigerator location. The fridge is now integrated beneath the seating area, keeping it accessible while freeing up other areas of the camper and creating a cleaner interior layout.

For shoppers comparing a Yoho Hardwall with a Yoho Pop-Up, the choice is now only about hardwall vs. pop-up construction rather than choosing between substantially different interior layouts.

2027 Scout Olympic Gets New Heating, Storage, and Table Design

The Olympic receives several model-specific interior changes for 2027.

The first is new floor ducting designed to distribute heat more evenly throughout the camper. Instead of concentrating warm air around a single heater outlet, the ducting should create more consistent temperatures through the living area during cold-weather use.

Scout is also adding a new floor-access storage compartment in the galley to gain better access to otherwise unused interior volume.

Finally, the Olympic's Lagun-style table system is being replaced with a wall-mounted folding table.

The new design can fold away against the wall when it is not needed, opening up more usable floor space and reducing the amount of hardware occupying the center of the camper.

DC-to-DC Charging Preparation

Scout also lists a new DC/DC-ready plug-in among its ten major Model Year 2027 changes.

The information provided to us so far does not provide additional specifications regarding the connection or compatible charging hardware, so we will update this article as more technical information becomes available.

The addition should make it easier to integrate vehicle-based charging solutions into the Scout electrical system without requiring as much custom electrical work.

Additional 2027 Scout Camper Changes

Beyond the headline upgrades, Scout is making a number of smaller revisions throughout the lineup:

  • Roof-mounted USB connection is being added near the bunk for easier device charging while in bed.
  • Added thermal tape to thermal bridges throughout the camper to further improve insulation performance.
  • New bumpers on the front camper wall will provide additional protection between the truck and camper.
  • Propane storage is being standardized around 5-pound LP tanks across the lineup.
  • On pop-up models, the air-conditioning unit is moving farther forward.
  • Pop-up roof latch brackets are also being redesigned so they can slide along the exterior T-track. This allows the latch position to be adjusted if the roof alignment changes slightly over time rather than requiring the entire bracket arrangement to remain fixed.
  • Pop-up models will also receive a dedicated license plate holder.

Taken individually, many of these are small changes. Together, they show that Scout spent much of the 2027 update addressing the smaller usability and ownership details that only become apparent after spending time camping in the product.

2027 Scout Camper Pricing

The expanded standard equipment and lineup-wide upgrades also come with new pricing for Model Year 2027.

Most Scout models receive a $3,000 increase in base MSRP compared with currently published 2026 pricing. The Tuktut increases by $7,000, although that comparison is somewhat different because Scout has eliminated the previous stripped-down configuration and made a much larger package of equipment standard.

What Do the 2027 Scout Changes Mean?

The Model Year 2027 update is less about changing what a Scout Camper is and more about refining the platform.

Scout is retaining the lightweight, modular, off-grid approach that separates its campers from more traditional truck campers. Most of the 2027 changes instead address comfort, durability, cold-weather performance, interior quality, storage, and the smaller functional details owners encounter every day.

The new insulated door, Eberspächer heating system, improved heat distribution, insulated pop-up material, Richlite surfaces, expanded mudroom pan, and revised floorplans collectively make the 2027 lineup a considerably more refined version of the existing Scout platform.

For the Tuktut in particular, the move toward a more complete standard equipment package also changes where the model sits within the Scout lineup.

We will continue updating this article as additional specifications and details for the 2027 Scout Campers become available.
