3rd Annual Junipe...
Jul 03, 2025
It’s been a week since the Juniper Jamboree wrapped up and we’re still buzzing from the weekend. The third annual event was full of sunshine, good conversations, great food, and the kind of community spirit that reminds us why we do what we do.
Friday kicked things off with check-in, camp setup, and the potluck dinner. And honestly, that potluck was one for the books. People showed up with everything from smoked meats to homemade salads and baked goods, and it was clear from the start that this was going to be a weekend full of connection. Whether you brought a gourmet dish or just a bag of chips, the energy around the food tables set the tone. No pressure, no expectations, just people sharing meals and making new friends.
Saturday brought a full day of learning, exploring, and hanging out. The two trail runs led by the crew at RCI Offroad took groups up Weston Pass. Mosquito was still too snow-packed to get through, but the views and conditions on Weston did not disappoint. Back at camp, the recovery and preparedness courses from Sierra Mechanica were packed and engaging. Attendees soaked up useful knowledge they could take with them long after the weekend was over. Jesse Houston’s cooking class hit the sweet spot between fun and functional, and it left us all a little hungrier for dinnertime.
Saturday night’s dinner from Jesse and the Switchback Supper Club was one of the best we’ve had. The food was incredible, and sharing it all together under the big tent made it even better. After dinner, we kicked off the AT Overland Tequila Tasting and then gathered around the fire for live acoustic music from Shane McNeil. It was the kind of night that made you want to linger just a little longer. Folks stayed up chatting, swapping stories, and enjoying the warmth of both the fire and the people around it. Huge shoutout to Howl Campfires for keeping things cozy all night long.
Sunday morning started with a solid breakfast thanks to RCI Offroad. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, and coffee wrapped things up just right. Some people packed up and headed home, while others stuck around to join Stay The Trail for a cleanup project nearby. It was a perfect end to a weekend built around community, stewardship, and a shared love for this lifestyle.
To everyone who made the trip out, thank you. You brought the energy, the good vibes, and the kind of attitude that makes the Jamboree what it is. To our sponsors, instructors, volunteers, and friends, we’re grateful for you. And to all the new faces we met this year, welcome to the Juniper family.
Already looking forward to the next one. See you on the trail.
